" I began my lesson with Laure about a year ago. ![]() Laure has helped me exceed my expectations! " Katherine Rybacki Researcher, Lancaster University - United Kingdom 2020/2021 With plenty of encouragement and a huge amount of skill, I’ve really seen a huge improvement in my French, and crucially also in my confidence with the language. " I’m continuing with lessons even after the exam, which really speaks volumes about how much I enjoy them, and I’m so delighted to now be able to tackle novels I previously had to give up on. Or didn’t know, words I mispronounced and really good homework focused on issues that came up in the lesson or things I have asked to work on. After the session I promptly receive a list of vocab I couldn’t remember I get a huge amount of practice in all areas in the lesson, and we did plenty of mock exams of all types. " Laure has been an absolutely incredible teacher, and I’ve passed my B2 with 92%! That is a fantastic improvement on my mark in the B1, done prior to our lessons. " Jean Junior Pediatrician, United States, 2019/2022 She's been critically important in advancing my French to the level where I can now actually use it in my global health endeavors. I've taken lessons from her for 3 years, and each lesson has been worth it despite my busy schedule as a physician. She is a great fit for any learner level, from people just starting out to very advanced students. " Laure is an AMAZING French instructor! She is exceptionally talented at coming up with grammar exercises extremely well-targeted at your individual areas ![]() ![]() " Sasha Laragy Student, Sydney, 2021/2022 Overall, our lessons have completely elevated my French skills and confidence. Laure further caters to my needs as a student by willingly providing feedback on school projects. I can converse with a native French speaker right from my desk at home! Laure achieves exactly this, optimising my time so that I rarely feel overwhelmed and conveniently conducting lessons online. Laure also concentrates on reinforcing new vocabulary and grammar structures so that they become part of my long term memory.Įntering my senior years as a student, a key criteria for valuable tutoring lessons is effective pacing. This has considerably improved my conversational French and ensured that classes are consistently engaging and often humorous. In each lesson, there is always the opportunity to engage in discussion about daily life. Thus, I can testify to the excellence of Laure’s classes, which are perfectly structured toĬover all aspects of language learning. " Almost a year and a half ago, I commenced ‘French via Skype’ with Laure because I desired to improve my academic abilityĪnd I have a deep interest in travel and global connection. DELF A2 here I come! " Hui Tan Clinical Research Associate - Sydney, Australia, 2021/2022 Overall, Laure is a fantastic, motivating and professional French tutor whom I highly recommend. We usually begin the lesson with a recap of the previous, making sure that I am progressing at a comfortable pace. Her lessons are highly personalised and structured around gaps identified at each lesson. It's easy to criticism the platform, especially on an anonymous forum, but in truth, 99% of the users work just fine with it." I began my lessons with Laure almost a year ago to improve my basic conversational French but ended up going for DELF A1 and aced it with a score of 96%. I think a tutor that uses only a platform's material is not a good tutor. I use none of Preply's material, I bring my own, but I've done that on every platform. In my experience, #1 isn't a problem and #2 is of course, a lack of effort on the tutor's part.Īs for the Preply platform, I've been on a lot worse I've not been on any platforms that are significantly better just different issues/strengths/weaknesses. I dislike Skype as a tutoring platform.įrom reading this forum and others, I suspect most Preply tutors who are hesitant to go outside of the Preply platform 1) are concerned about proving they provided the service or 2) are not overly versed with the Preply rules about outside communications with the student. I came from a background of using Zoom, where I had about 50 clients over the last two years, so I'm comfortable with both. I don't know what the Lord has to do with it, but I use the Preply platform for about 90% of my classes. ![]()
